Terms of Use

KaalSuchak is provided by the developer named on its App Store or Google Play listing (“we”). You can reach us at [email protected].

This app is provided for personal, non-commercial use. Panchang, festival dates and lunar birthday calculations are generated algorithmically from established astronomical methods and are offered for reference and religious observance only, with no warranty of accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. You are responsible for independently verifying any date that carries legal, financial or medical consequence.

The app, its code, and the calendar rules and data it contains are protected by copyright. You may not copy, decompile, reverse engineer or extract them, or use them to build another product or service, except to the extent the law allows regardless of these terms.

KaalSuchak Pro is an optional subscription sold through the App Store or Google Play. Payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds are handled by that store under its own terms, and a refund is requested from the store. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to you; Apple is not responsible for the app or for supporting it.

To the fullest extent the law allows, the app is provided “as is”, and we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss that comes from relying on a date, time or window the app shows. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for the app or a subscription in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

We may update these terms as the app changes; the version in the current app is the one that applies. These terms are governed by the laws of India. They are written in English, and only the English text applies. By using the app you accept these terms.

Privacy

This app is offline-first: every date it shows is computed on your own device, and the app itself sends no data anywhere. No personal data, calendar data or family register information is collected by us, transmitted to us or shared with any third party. Anyone or anything you add — people, dates, reminders — is stored on your device.

It leaves the device only in ways you control. A backup file you export, or a month you share, goes wherever you send it, and a backup holds everything in your family register, including any dates of passing. If your phone makes its own backup, such as iCloud Backup on iPhone, that backup includes the app’s data under your account with Apple. Android’s automatic cloud backup is turned off for this app. Reminders appear as notifications, and your phone’s settings decide whether they show on the lock screen.

If you ask a question by voice, your phone’s own speech recognition turns it into text, and the app keeps no recording. On iPhone this always happens on the device. On Android it happens on the device wherever the phone supports offline recognition; where it does not, the phone’s speech service may send the audio to its provider, such as Google, under that provider’s privacy policy.

If you buy a subscription, that purchase is handled entirely by Apple or Google: their software contacts their servers to take the payment and to confirm what you are entitled to, and all that comes back to the app — which subscription you hold and the date it runs to — is kept on your device. We never see your payment details. The store gives us sales and order records under its own terms, which we use only to account for sales and to deal with refunds. Such purchases are governed by the App Store’s or Google Play’s own privacy policy. The app uses no server of ours.

If you write to us — from the app’s Contact page or otherwise — we receive your email address and what you write, and use them only to reply and to fix what you report. We won’t add your address to a mailing list or send you anything you didn’t ask for. If you’d like your messages deleted, tell us and we will delete them.

Our website, kaalsuchak.com, sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or advertising. Its host, Cloudflare, processes your IP address to deliver the pages, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

The app is not directed at children, and it collects no personal data from anyone, children included. If a future update adds an optional account or sync feature, this notice will be updated before that feature is enabled. Questions about privacy can be sent to [email protected].

Disclaimer

Panchang, festival and vrat dates follow the tithi, kaal and calendrical rules of the calendar tradition you have selected. Observance can vary by region, family and individual practice, and published panchangs do not always agree with one another. This app is not a substitute for guidance from a qualified priest, astrologer or family elder on matters of religious observance.

Muhurat days, Rahu Kaal and the other timings are traditional windows worked out by rule. They are offered for reference, not as advice on any decision, and they are not predictions. Fasting and vrat information is not medical advice: if you have a health condition, are pregnant, or take regular medication, ask a doctor before fasting.
